    Hello

I want to create an ISO File

Which Base Win should I choose?

In the installer I did not check "Install ViBoot" is this for Virtual Machines?

In Rescue Media Settings I did not mark "Check for devices missing on boot"

In Option Tab I have unchek "Add WiFI Support" (I dont have WiFI in my computer only Ethernet)

In Devives & Drivers Tab I did not check "Use host drivers for USB devices where possible"

    A) Am I ok to continue with my Rescue Media Builder once I know which Base Win should I choose?

    B) Something else I forgot to set?

    Thanks
    Camelia

The WinRE is always the best choice unless you have a functional reason not to use it. It pulls what it needs from the current installed Win 10 release. Other than that, you look good to go.

That choice doesn't show up when I choose to build either a rescue disk or iso. I only have:

Yes. The "Advanced" button and then "Choose Base WIM" tab.

Thanks...should have seen that. I wonder why it chose something different by default.

viBoot allows you to run a .mrimg image of a PC as a virtual machine in Hyper-V or (new for v8) Virtualbox. If you already had either of those installed then that box would have been ticked by default. As it wasn't that implies that you don't use Hyper-V or Virtualbox, in which case you won't need viBoot.

That's common if you have deleted your Recovery partition. If you can choose it after Advanced button, that is odd indeed.

Do you mean the recovery partition on the flash drive? I did format it. Then I specifically chose Windows RE, then erased it. However, I redid the rescue disc & this time it defaulted to Windows RE, so I'm not sure why it didn't the first time.

No, The Recovery partition on your Boot Drive. The small one an install creates, < 1GB, usually around 7-8 MB. But you're ok now, so all is fine.

This time last month, if you had installed v8 Free then checked for updates it would show a blank release note, then if you clicked 'download' it would download the v7 installer.
    Bree said:
..... a check for updates will say an update is available (with a blank 'release note') but if you install the 'update' it will actually patch Reflect back down to v7 Free....

...or at least, it would try (and fail) to downgrade the installed v8 to v7 free.

It seems that Macrium's original intention was to downgrade the v8 Trial version to v7 Free at the end of 30 days. Two weeks ago the Reflect Free download page still said so...

    Macrium said:
...any backups you create during the trial will still be accessible as the software reverts to Reflect 7 Free....

But that has all changed now -not only has the wording been changed to remove the '7'...

....but if you check for updates in v8 Free you now get the proper release notes and it downloads a patch to the latest v8.
