I contacted Macrium last week as an existing licence holder and was given the offer of two new v7 licences for £31 which is significantly cheaper than the 50% off offer for upgrading the existing licences. I just removed the old v7 licences and changed the v7 licences to the new ones. I was then offered the free upgrade to v8 which works fine.

My first impression is that the menu fonts are tiny on a 1920x1080 15" laptop display and there is no way of changing them. Have told Macrium they need to fix this.
Totally agree about the font size. it's far too small.

Bought Macrium Reflect 7 on 1st Nov 2020 and thought I just fell outside the scope of a free upgrade to version 8, but delighted yesterday to find that I received a new licence code and free upgrade. Download had a few hiccups, but now installed and doesn't look dramatically different from 7. Updated recovery media and good to go, I hope. Will create a couple of images and a clone shortly, but don't expect any problems.

How did that tiny font size ever pass user testing? This issue is typical when young software developers fail to appreciate the eyesight needs of older users.

If that's the free version it will reinstall V7 for you.

It didn't go thru, said that it's already up to date. Nothing changed, it's still V8.

I explicitly emailed macrium to ask if I would get the upgrade to macrium Reflect Home 4 pack for free or have to pay. The Macrium agent explicitly told me my upgrade would be free and now I find that I have to pay.

A disgrace and a real kick in the teeth. Very unprofessional. They take so long to launch the new version that they have abandoned existing customers to a paid upgrade path.

I will retain and use v7 for a few years then move back to Acronis.

That sounds more like a miscommunication. Contact them again, they are not like that. They stand behind the product and as you can see from others who have posted, some contact and explanation gets the issue resolved.
