Ah, didn't know there was favoritism toward this side of the Pond. Most unusual. Maybe now post-"B" that may change.
Worst culprit is a little known company called Microsoft who sell licences at $1 to £1 rate.

So if licence is $100, US guys pay $106 (assuming 6% Sales Tax), which is 1.06/1.36 = £78.

Our prices include VAT. So if we pay £100, we are paying 28% more than US guys.

Hardware sales also tend to follow this.

So yeah, we always get screwed on the RHS of the Pond. I believe our Antipodean friends (underneath the Pond?) get even more screwed but could be put of date on that one).

Still no news for a v8 release date, but there's a 20% discount on v7 for Valentines day...

20% off this Valentine's Day and a free upgrade to Reflect 8 as soon as its released.

When did you buy yours? The upgrade is free for purchases after 15th Nov. 2020. See post #92.

Response from Macrium.... posted with their permission
...there will be a generous upgrade discount for anyone who purchased before 15th November 2020. The discount for previous major updates has always been around 40 to 50%, so I would expect it to be in that region...

    Hi there
Does it actually offer anything seriously good over V7.

I'm all in favour of decent upgrades etc - but is it woth spending around 80 EUR (+ tax depending on where you are) just for a few cosmetic changes in the GUI.

Nothing against Macrium BTW - but I'm always a bit suspicious when a product that works even on the absolute latest version of Windows is suggesting "Upgrade".

    Cheers

There must be more to it than just a GUI.

I've always thought the GUI was the weakest part of Reflect, we're always getting posts from first-time Macrium users who find it confusing.

As for new features in v8, these are quite significant...

    viBoot Virtual Box Support

    ReFS and ExFAT Support

Removable Media Imaging and Cloning Support

...though probably the one I'd find most useful is Backup Comment Editing as I'm always thinking of something I should have added (or spotted a typo) after making a backup
