Update to V.2004 (OSBuild 19041.630) Now cannot view desktop icons.

With the previous version of W.10 ( Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.572) and every previous version of Windows I have used The main advantage were Icons representing up to 60 different folders and whatever I had pasted containing all my files and sub folders in front of me at the end of start up as I switch off my computer when not in use. The nice picture of a night time tent and stars or whatever being wallpaper was just that. A wall to paste something on.
Now my folders have gone from display and I cannot even paste a new folder on the wallpaper. To get to the previous desktop folders I have to go hunting.
How can I return my Windows to looking at my work and not looking at Microsoft Artwork.

By any chance have you somehow enabled virtual desktops?
Open Task View in Windows 10

    Try typing
    %userprofile%
    in file explorer's address bar.
You should see a desktop folder listed.
Are your expected items in that?

    Other possible approaches:
    - restore your PC from a disk image you've previously created (the routine use of Macrium Reflect is frequently recommended)
    - use a System Restore point
    - try uninstalling the update
    - search for the desktiop folder containing the content you expect

I cannot even paste a new folder on the wallpaper.
That is perhaps the most significant aspect- a functional problem.

    Are you perhaps experiencing this?
