I am replacing old hard drives before they go bad. Hard drives are 8 years old. I have made many single hard drive images with macrium reflect but never with 2 drives and raid 1. Wanted to get some input on how to do it or point me in the right direction to find out how. Windows 10 Pro. Version 2004. OS Build 19041.630
I haven't used RAID since I broke a Win10 by removing the D: drive, wouldn't boot, but if I had a setup like yours I'd like to try doing it with a drive dock I got some time ago. It's branded EAXER and has 2 ports for SATA drives and can clone a Source to a Destination plus 3 x USB 3 ports of which 1 is a charger. It is designed not to work if the USB cable is connected to a computer and does Byte for Byte and works great for both drives same size, recently did a 1TB 3.5" to a 1TB 2.5" to put in a portable case for storage. Haven't tried large to small but going small to large will leave unallocated space like if going from 1TB to 2TB but that can be managed in Windows to create and format an additional partition. With 2 drives I'd try one, marking which is which, then the other, put the clones in the computer and try them. The dock makes no change to the Source drive but did notice it's best to run chkdsk on the Source/s first.

Not sure if this is the best way but should work.
1) backup data to individual external drives (or whatever -- cloud services etc). For basic data - use ROBOCOPY ,XCOPY, or simply Windows / File explorer.
2) install new HDD's
3) Create your RAID array's for the new drives.
4) restore data saved via step 1).
If you have the Windows OS on a RAID device then that's beyond my knowledge - AFAIK Windows needs a hardware card with a driver to boot a RAID device. However the suggestion I've made will save / recover your DATA files.
