hypothetical question on imaging the system partition .

What exactly would happen if turned TimeFreeze on, installed an imaging program (or used a portable application) and hot imaged my system partition, saved the image to another non shadowed partition?

not clear but an image is a exact copy of a partition so it can be restored

The image would be saved in the non-shadowed partition, the image program would de "uninstalled" when you reboot (assuming the TimeFreeze cache is deleted when you reboot).

I havenīt used TF, but this is what happens when I use Shadow Defender.

Anibor: Thank you. So apparently, there is no problem doing an image this way? Also, what would get images - the system partition with the the imaging program or without it?

The image would include the system partition and the others that you choose to include. The image program wold be included in the image.

If you donīt want to include the image program in the image, you could install the image program, create a boot UFD (USB Flash Drive), reboot to "uninstall" the image program, and create the image from the UFD. This is what I usually do.

    1. Enter shadow mode (turn on DeepFreeze).
    2. Install the image program.
    3. Create a boot UFD.
    4. Reboot (this "uninstalls" the image program).
    5. Create the image from the UFD.

You need to create another boot UFD only when the image program is updated.
