Navy, SSD is not inside anymore.
Then how are you doing the clean install to it?

I'm not, yet. Probably when I have the time and patience to do so.

Sigh, long story short, this is my wife's laptop, hence the determination to clone the drive, if it was for me, I would have just wiped everything clean - which is the normal way of doing such things.

I would highly, highly recommend you make a backup image of that hard drive while it still working, then.

Ah, this explains a lot, now I understand the more important details.

You might want to find time, sooner than later, to make that customer happy and before the HDD has a catastrophic failure. That's the last place you want an unhappy customer.

Got some news, good news actually :)

Made an image for the old HDD and decided to have another go at the cloning, but this time using the simple Samsung Migration tool and it worked from first try.

I can successfuly boot from the new SSD, everything is in place.

Now, I would like to use the old HDD as storage and it's showing as Offline ( since it's the same ID with the SSD), would changing it simply to Online, get it an unique ID or it would upset the balance between boot drives again? As this trip wasn't as smooth as I was expecting, should I prepare for more trouble?

    Thanks!

If you right click on the drive in disk management and then online, it will get a new ID.
