Sorry for causing undo confusion, @ignatzatsonic! I only intended to update on this solved thread the 'missing' screenshots that I didn't take the first time doing the "restore" process. Both attempts with Macrium R were successful!

The permissions/ownership issue is inherent to having to change from one laptop to another because the user account(s) associated with those folders and files on Windows 7 machine are not be 'available' on my Windows 10 machine. Just briefly, the standard user on W10 machine can access the drive but doesn't have permissions to read the main folder. I thought I had remembered the proper steps to make the changes but obviously I didn't and so I redid the MR restore and took these screenshots for archives.

I've posted a separate thread on the permissions/ownership matter "Change ownership of data partition restored from W7 machine" and have gotten helpful links for further research to correct this issue. Hope this clears up the confusion my post had caused!

I believe the Drag n' Drop method of moving partitions (see post #8) solves this, as it handles all the housecleaning chores. SIDs of partitions, and ownership/permission issues. Essentially, it is a copy/paste, but not literally. This assumes the users on both/all machines are the same.

Didn't the OP use drag and drop?? And came upon permission issues?

"these are screenshots after dragging the backup image from Source and dropping it over the D:\ partition on Destination"

above from post 9, about 6 hours ago.

    I'm still confused.

I misread part of dpwoodpecker's last post, I thought he was still having the issue. Seems the drag n' drop did do the trick.

    Unless I still confused, too!

Didn't he use drag and drop in both attempts?

Below from his post 7, several days ago; the first attempt as far as I know:

"When I dragged the W7 backup image and dropped it onto the existing W10 data partition D".......

The more I go back and re-read, especially #7, it looks like every post by the OP after #7 was just verification all is ok, but they made me think there was still a problem. Plus, it's marked "solved".

    I'll be brave.....
@dpwoodpecker ....... is all ok now?
