Macrium Reflect Clone Attempt Wiped My HDD

    Hi,

This morning, I tried to use Reflect to clone my HDD to an NVME. The clone attempt failed for some XML reason. After I clicked, OK, my HDD was empty:

Only one file appeared on the drive, a log:

I'm at a loss here and trying not to freak out. I did see a thread from a few months ago with a similar problem, but that seemed to be a partition issue. All my stuff is just gone. I would, for obvious reasons, like to get it back, Thanks.

Your screenshot seems to indicate partition 2 of the seagate 1tb disk is empty apart from a few mb.

Suggest you take a look with some boot media that will let you see what you are doing and includes data recovery tools.

Yeah, that's the one that was very much not empty when I made the clone attempt.

What, if anything, appears to be on the NVMe drive?

    Fresh Windows install w/ Reflect.

You say "The clone attempt failed" and that the NVMe now has a "fresh Windows install".

    That confuses me.

    The NVMe is unbootable???

No, I'm on the NVMe now. It wasn't affected by the cloning failure. I had previously installed Windows and Reflect prior to the cloning attempt.

Probably the best guy to help you around here is Jumanji.

In the meantime, don't use the HDD.

You will likely be asked to download Minitool Partition Wizard.

There's "data recovery" and then there is "partition recovery". Two distinct things. I'd be careful about which to attempt first---wait for better advice.

You might be able to get some relief at the Macrium Forums. I've never used cloning--only imaging--so I can't help any more.

Are you satisfied that whatever is no longer on D on the HDD (the "lost" stuff) is NOT now on the NVMe at all?

I can definitely wait. Heh. Unfortunately, I can't use the Macrium forums because I'm on the free trial.

    Yes. Nothing made it over.
