    Run Memtest86 version 8.4 (or newer version if available) for four passes.
    Repeat the test so that eight passes are performed.

    Use a camera or smart phone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.
    In case there are any problems uploading images use share links (one drive, drop box, or google drive)

    There should be a prompt to upgrade the existing UEFI hardware diagnostics version 6.4.0.

    Upgrade Version 6.4 > 7.7

    Then the InstallShield Wizard should perform the installation.

    The next menu gives a choice:
    a) internal drive
    b) USB flash drive

    If there are any problems installing on the internal drive then use a flash drive.
    Finally figured out how to run this. See SystemsDiags.log

    What was the earlier problem performing the HP UEFI hardware diagnostics upgrade?
    And what did you modify to get it to upgrade?

    For any BSOD:

    a) run the V2 log collector to collect new log files

    b) open file explorer> this PC > C: > in the right upper corner search for: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
    > if the file size is < 1.5 GB then zip > post a separate share link into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

    I chose the wrong one at first Windows 10 - ver 1.6.6. When I saw your second post about this, I realized that I need the 7.7.0.0. Then figured out about booting.

    I booted off usb drive. Started Memtest and have had a blank screen for a while. Fan is running; I figure it is working generating heat.

    I stopped and started the test. Got into problems with KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT _HANDLED showing up where it would go through restarts either automatic or it told me to restart. Then it would do this automatic repair. At one point I forced it to book into the old hard drive. It did run into the KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT _HANDLED, did a repair and then it booted in to the SSD.

    Kinda nervous about doing Memtest86.

    Memtest runs without Windows.
    Problems during Memtest imply different issues than problems during startup repair or reboot.

    There is a backup image so it would be useful to run Memtest.


    Read these links on Windows driver verifier:

    a) learn how to use the Windows Recovery Environment (RE) commands: reset and bootmode to turn off the tool

    b) do not use the tool until it is communicated in the thread

    Again, this happens anytime I shut down. Does not occur if just restarting.
