    Windows Module Installer

Here's an easy question to answer. Please advise as how to stop Windows Module Installer from continually creating Restore Points. Thanks.

Thanks for the pointer! I had actually gone through this thread but with no clear answer as how to stop the problem.

This is funny! Most post are about how to get Windows 10 to create restore points.

IU'm guessing you do image backups and don't need or want system restore points?

I want the Restore points but only the ones I create and not many being created during the day by Microsoft. I'm therefore attempting to stop those and not mine.

Personally I never use system restore and keep it disabled. If I wanted to do what you're asking:

Enable system restore, create a restore point then disable. You can do that manually whenever you like.

So doing what you're saying (disabling after creating) will not remove my restore point I just created?

Works okay for me using a third party tool. Not really recommended to mess about with other features though as it's easy to break something.

Created. System Restore disabled. Restore point still exists.

Most of us here use system image backups. Restore points are flaky at best.

I've gone to the Task Scheduler, highlighted SystemRestore and over on the far right, hit Disable. I'm waiting to see if this will work and so far (up to 2 whole minutes) no extra restore points. If I'm as successful at this as I have been with the Windows Update, this laptop should hopefully explode!
Creating a Restore Point then disabling it removes the Restore Point created. Not fun, well unless it's on someone else's computer.
