As I said earlier, I routinely use High as size is my top priority. Macrium has never let me down either, so I don't think you're risking anything by using it.
Fair enough. It all comes down to personal experience and confidence.

I have masses of storage for my images as I keep them lean and mean (data is on a different physical drive with valuable data backed up to Onedrive).

Sometimes I backup data drive in entirety (non critical data mostly) to a spare 1TB Hdd (I must have at least 6 spare ones LOL).

I am a bit lazy backing up non critical data as most of it is just videos.

I can (legitimately) download these again. I usually have bulk of data backed up but I pragmatically might lose some recent stuff as no big deal.

Of course, my main OS and Programs on C drive are regularly backed up with Reflect.

yes i meant the xml definition files, got a ton of those lol
By default, Reflect creates XML definition files in C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Reflect .

You can go there and weed them out, OR as @Bree mentions, even more easily, right click any one of the XML files and select Open Containing Folder.

Just keep one, right click and Edit it to you satisfaction, and then from now on, just right click that one and select a method from the Run Now menu to create an image.

I routinely do it that way, with the drop-down. Also easily allows me to add a comment for the image, and keep it general, or not, using Prompt option.

You can add a comment to an image file after it’s created and verified? I didn’t know that. That’s really handy.

No. I think @f14tomcat was talking about the right click 'Prompt' dialog on the Backup Definition file before the Image is made, when a window opens up and you can enter Comments.

Once the Image is processed these comments are locked in.

Unfortunately it's not like jpg, mp3, or mp4 metadata that can be changed at any time.

Bingo. I wish comments could be changed.

but that would destroy the integrity of the image.

Thanks for clarifying this. It’s good to know that my understanding of how the comments are stored is correct.

For some reason, my Macrium Differential Backups started to fail on my dual boot system.

Because of an unrelated matter, I took my system to bare metal and reinstalled 19041.xxx. I'm now on 19041.572. Yesterday, I set Macrium Reflect Back Up Full on the first Monday of the month and Differential to run every other day except Saturday & Sunday.

This morning, Macrium's Differential Backup started but failed.

I'm not sure what's going on here; especially since in essence, this is a new system setup.

    Anyone got any ideas?
