    Mini tool partition wizard

I have used the free version of Mini tool partition wizard for years, and it has performed flawlessly. Not any more, sadly, the new version is a shadow of its former self. Also I found when loading a fresh one there was malware included which Malwarebytes and WD both detected.
I mostly use it for cloning the 500 Gb ssd in my laptop to an external USB3 drive, I have two, a 500 Gb WD Scopio Black, and the original Seagate 1Tb from the laptop. The laptop will accept either of these drives with the minimum of fuss if the ssd ever gives trouble.
Yesterday, I tried two free drive imaging programs, Paragon, and Drive image XML, both failed after a few minutes. When I had a working copy of MTPW, it used to perform the cloning during a restart.
Any advice on getting a free cloning program would be appreciated.

muchomurka's link was better, it was to a post by jumanji containing this link.....

MiniTool Partition Wizard Free 12.1 Download for Windows / Old Versions Page 2 / FileHorse.com

    ...which has versions 10.0, 9.1, 9.0 and 8.1.1.

Version 9.1 is probably the best, it was the last free one to retain all its features. After that they started to disappear into the paid-for version. It's the one I use, still works fine in 2004.

It was also the last version to have a free bootable iso, still downloadable from the Wayback Machine's archived page.

    Hi,
Good for majority of uses and still no pups included
Never thought to use mini tool for cloning anyway or doing a clone period seeing reflect and restoring a system image is just to normal I guess
If you don't do system imaging then you/ op have far greater issues to deal with.

They will have detected a PUP [Potentially unwanted program] because the standard MiniTool installer has other things bundled with it.

You do not have to drop back to an earlier version.

Just use the offline installer. That's what I did. It's 28MB rather than the mere 4MB of the standard one that creates this alert.

Thanks, theres a lot of info for me to look through. I have just checked which version is on this pc and it's 10, and that seems to have all the features that I require. I have refused the update on this pc fortunately.
