Macrium Reflect home version 7 dependable?

I was thinking about upgrading from my home version 6 I purchased in 2015 but if the 7 has a lot of problems I'll just wait a while. Thanks!

It’s never failed me. I’ve restored many different PCs and never had a problem. I include verification as the last step in every backup that I perform. Everyone should do that.

I agree on the verification, as I recently had to try and do a restore using my home version 6 with only one image back up on my second drive I didn't verify first wrote it to my drive and of course, it was corrupted! so I'll never leave myself with just one back up image. Thanks!

That’s frightening. I’ve only had one verification failure in many years. It was a full image backup that I did to a pair of drives that I formatted as Raid 0 using Windows Storage Spaces. Something must have gone wrong with the setup because when I reformatted the Raid and ran a second backup it verified OK. I believe Windows software Raid’s can be a bit flaky.

I've been using the FREE version of version 7 on 6 computers ever since it came out.

Never had a problem and I do backup almost every day.

I've been using Macrium Reflect Free 7 for years now, both for backups and restores. My test machine (System Two in 'My Computers' below) gets restored at least two or three times a month.

Never had a problem. In fact I was so impressed I bought a 4-pack of Home licences at the last 'Black Friday' discount offer.

MR7 is a lot better than MR6 - it really has good new features and is very reliable, and of course fully supported.

Macrium 7 has been a mainstay of my OSs for some time now. I have several paid licenses and use the free version on some of my test systems. Very reliable, can't say enough good things about it.

Been a long time using version 6 so I am not sure if the option is available. But with version 7, if the image is corrupted, try to run verify again but put a check mark as shown below, it might fix the image for you.
Note that image created with version 6 is backward compatible with version 7.
