Macrium Reflect Backup & Verify Time on Laptop

Ok Well Desktop part of the issue i was having is solved, only took about an hour for the Desktop with same external drive

External drive on Laptop, SSD fast, less than 30 minutes

Storage Drive is the longest one
at least 2 hours for directly connected usb 3.0 external drive

then another 5 hours for verfication

I'm gonna run Seagate Tools on the External tonight with Desktop, and let that go over night, as i figure 8tb is gonna take a while to check, as i'm sure it's not normal to take that long

Hitachi 1tb storage drive in Laptop if that matters

**I won this 8TB Seagate Drive in a Twitter Contest last year**, so one of my newest externals, i do have another usb c enclosure one that i could try. Wanted the 8TB in the newer usb 3.1 enclosure, with Type A cord, and Type C cord, but some reason when that one was in there kept disconnecting.

The speed of backing up is dependent on the working set size/type, & drive type (SSD vs a spinner) and further if its a spinner, what is the rotational speed (5400rpm vs 10,000rpm). From personal experience, A working set size of 180gb (All SSD's input) being written to a 7200rpm Spinner via Macrium Reflect takes me right around 35 min to write & verify, but after changing the backup drive type to a 10k spinner, brought the elapsed time down to 27min for the same data ! Pretty impressive savings. I've never tested a 5400rpm drive as backup, but did have a laptop (HP mid-range speed) that had a 5400rpm spinner, was painfully slow when writing to a 7200rpm backup drive.
