Is there a disk imaging software that you can add/delete files from?

Hi there
If you need DATA backup / archive / changed / updated files - then imaging an entire disk is a "Bonkers way to do it".
Even copying data via File explorer to say an externally attached HDD / SSD is OK but a bit of a laborious manual process..

If you don't want PAID versions of software which can do this reasonably efficiently then :

If you really want only to copy / update new / changed files then as people suggest ROBOCOPY might be OK -- I prefer rsync (or the GUI version) on a NAS -- just run the command from the NAS to select the path/ directory you want to copy the files from and select from the options -- job done.

I mildly disagree. Have been backing up my data partitions for some years now, since Windows 3.1, and have been glad for those images during a rare restore. My idea of data partition includes numerous folders and files: audio, video, text, DOCs, PDFs, EXE and ZIP installs of free and fee software. I move folders, rename folders, etc., often enough that data partition backup images onto external USB HDDs work for me very well.
