    I have Windows 10 installed on a small SSD which I carry around with me. It is very forgiving of hardware changes when connected to any computer - as long as there is an internet connection, drivers for the new "target" machine will be updated on start-up.

    Note the legal EULA limitations - should not be an OEM version, and should only be installed on one machine at any one time.

    Make a clone of the original HDD. Install that clone HDD into the target computer. If hardware, Windows, most 3rd party software plays nice, you're on your way.
    When the dust settles, make sure the Microsoft TrueBlue Windows product key "moves" from original computer to target computer, or, if OEM Windows, you have to do what it takes for the target computer. I am a Windows 7 person, so, my comments may need altering.
