OK, well you don't really need two separate pen drives. You can make the 256 GB bootable just as easily and have backups on the same drive you boot from.
That presumably is a way to get to Macrium IF and ONLY IF your hard drive is still working. If your hard drive is dead you'll never have those options.
You need to
1: confirm that other pen drive you made will boot your PC.
2: figure out what to do then. Nothing will happen automatically. You have to make a bunch of correct choices.
A point that has got lost here is the reliability of pen drives.
They just do not have the long term reliability of external hard drives. It is a false economy relying on a flash drive as a backup medium.
Also good practice is to keep backups on two separate media, preferably with one at a different location (in case of theft, fire, flood etc.)
For only £60 a year, you can get1TB of cloud space from MS and they chuck in Office 365 as well (other way round of course ha ha).
I guarantee you WILL lose your backup on youu pendrive sooner or later and it would be a tragedy to find out when you need it.
Worth checking with your ISP as some provide a certain amount of free Cloudspace. I use BT Infinity and they provide 1TB free (just discovered it has gone from 300 GB to 1TB).
So I copy and image backup to BT and OneDrive monthly, and do full backups to hard drives weekly. I accept the cloud backups may be a little out of date but I keep data on a separate drive and I back that up separately. Any critical data is sent to OneDrive.

HI,
I sure wouldn't put a system image on a pen drive lol
Only real hdd's or ssd's for that good stuff.
Recovery winpe media I usually do both pen drive and regular cd yes I still have a cd/ dvd drive
There's various ways to post a picture.
You could open the picture, right click it, choose "copy", and then paste into your message.
To get to your boot menu, this should work:
Insert the Macrium USB rescue media in a USB port.
Restart the machine.
Press escape key maybe once a second during the boot process.
That should bring up a menu. You'd probably choose F9 key from that menu, which should allow you to choose a boot device. Choose the pen drive at the next menu.
Ok guys i get it that pendrives arent the way to go but can someone help me out here with why i can post photos here and what i need to do to get the Macrium reflect set up the proper way in case disaster strikes.
