Partition Wizard - can't get it to install on Vista?

I'm trying to install Partition Wizard on Vista, the site says it supports it. I double click on the file, nothing happens. I right click and "Run as Administrator" - nothing happens. I'm very frustrated.

I previously posted here, about a dead SSD:

Need help copying and recovering data from SSD

I plugged the SSD into an old computer. It didn't show up in Disk Management at first, but after being plugged in for 15 minutes it appeared. It says "Disk 1 Unknown Not Initialized." I realize it's probably a lost cause, but I wanted to see if Partition Wizard could help. But I can't get it to run.

    Thanks for any advice!

As you're apparently using Windows Vista, and tenforums is about ...Windows 10.. it's less likely you'll get a relevant response. You could, of course, ask Minitool support.

You may have better luck trying the Portable version, that doesn't require an install.

Failing that, you could register on Ten Forum's sister site Vista Forums and ask there. In fact, quite a few members here are still providing support over there (and on Seven and Eight Forums).

Yes, and there are still users asking for and getting support. Brink keeps the news up to date too. Of all the * forums family, Eight Forums is perhaps the least active, besides the news most posts seem to be in the Last Letters Game thread

Like many others, I'm registered on all of them. Vista was only because I once needed a download though (you have to sign in on Vista Forums to be allowed to download).

Vista was great! (for me..) I still have the laptop that came with Vista. Another period when so many hated MS- because of driver incompatibilities or missing drivers if I recall..

I would use the portable version since the installer version gives a virus detection on Defender - but you might be OK with Vista

I skipped Vista, going straight from XP to W7. I recently visited it (briefly) as a step in the upgrade path from XP to W10. Looked so much like W7 that I had to wonder why it wasn't more popular (lack of drivers, I guess).
