    That's odd, it always has for me. But there's no need to go as far as taking ownership, just trying to explore the WindowsImageBackup folder will trigger the popup offering you permanent access (at least, it will if you are signed in with an account that is an administrator). Click Continue and your user account is added to the permissions with Full Control.

    It's up to you but if a 'backup to a backup' is potentially to be relied upon when the chips are down then it ought to be made using a reliable utility such as Macrium reflect and not a deprecated one that might let you down.
