AOMEI and a curious issue with Adobe Reader DC

I wonder if anyone could check this...

I'm running AOMEI Professional 5.7.0 having updated from the previous version a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to look something up in the user pdf manual which is installed by default in the AOMEI program files folder and this manual is accessible from the user interface of the program at the top right.

The pdf won't open, but its worse than that... neither would any other pdf on PC.

Long story short... clicking the user manual link 'breaks' Adobe until you either restart or as I discovered, kill all the Adobe process that the link seems to open in task manager. Even Adobe itself will not open in this state.

The pdf file itself located in the AOMEI program files folder opens normally when accessed directly. Use the link in the AOMEI interface and its all broken again.

Coincidently I notice that Adobe automatically updated yesterday, just mentioning that because I noticed it.

I've no idea whether this is a new issue related to AOMEI updates, Adobe updates or whether its always been broken.

Could anyone confirm or otherwise whether its a common issue or just me. AOMEI version is the latest 5.7.0

When I tried last night I noticed all these multiple messages. That is how I came to look in task manager and kill all the Adobe processes. Remember though, only the AOMEI manual link seems the problem.

@Mooly the user manual opens as it should directly from the AOMEI Professional 5.7.0 interface for me.

    @IownAmoneyPit thanks for testing that.

Puzzlement then... although I suppose it's no real problem as long as that is all that is broken.

    Thanks.

I've just restored back to prior to when I updated AOMEI. Now on version 5.6.0 and it all works as normal.

I shall update AOMEI from this state as a test.

Updated to 5.7.0 and broken again. Hmmm. Looks like have a cause but not the reason why.

    A final update on this.

Following updating W10 to the latest 2004 build a few days ago (via Flash Drive made with the Media Creation Tool) I now find the AOMEI pdf is now working correctly and consistently every time.

All I did was run the Windows Upgrade.

So its all working but I never found out why it failed in the first place.

Most likely some system file had got corrupted and updating OS fixed it.

Of course, people moan about potential new bugs (usually based on hearsay) but forget a new OS fixes old bugs as well.

    Just for info...

I reported this to AOMEI and they have replied that they have detected some 'errors' in certain environments which will hopefully be 'optimised' in future.

I also have the PRO version and I just tried opening the manual. This is what happened:

Apparently there is a problem is the file as adobe reader is asking me to set accessibility settings.
But I clicked on "CANCEL" and the PDF file opened and works with no problem here!

I've never seen that screen on Adobe Reader DC but I notice yours is the Pro version of DC.

Dunno on that one I'm afraid although AOMEI say they are aware of some problems.
