Tried a lot of things. No luck. Just checking on recent windows update to see if successful

Now getting error System Restore cannot scan drives. When I open from control panel it is searching for drives without success

I think I may have found a fix for the Macrium issue, not the system restore, So yesterday, or rather Sunday night when I updated Macrium I was on Macrium 7.2.4859, that was what check for updates gave me. So I re-downloaded just now and got Macrium 7.2.4884. Ran a similar backup that failed with same error however this time the VSS utility now built into program worked. It was in the 4859 but it did not help. Now I unininstalled a bunch of programs including CCLeaner but after the VSS tool I was able to start a backup. More testing tomorrow.

I think Macrium knows about this and working on it in the upgrades. Oh snap, my System Restore works now too

So what do I think the bottom line fix was (though it could have been affected by other things I did) but I think in Reflect menu item, Other Tasks --> "Fix VSS Issues" was improved between build 4589 and 4884. Update: Actually, after reading release notes I think it was a combination of something I did, registry tweak, or software uninstall and the VSS fix. Maybe it was CCleaner itself.
