It's the same thing as post #6 and post #9

    Here is what I do.

    1) create 1GB fat32 partition

    2) Mount Macrium Rescue Iso as a drive
    3) copy all files from iso to fat32 partition

    4) create WinPE boot entry using easybcd v2.4 (imo easier than bootice)
easybcd is only comparable with MBR, not GPT. Easy UEFI is the one to use.

Did you give the esp partition a drive letter so you can browse to it with bootice?
then browse to driveletter:\EFI\Microsoft\boot folder and pick up the bcd file.
Use minitool partition, right click on FAT32 partition -> Explore. No need to assign letter.

No, it's not. The method in tutorial does not require any third party tools like EasyBCD or EasyUEFI. It's done using only native Windows tools and commands.

Took about 5 minutes using Macrium and the batch file. All setup and I have an entry in the boot menu. Unfortunately boot fails:

Sorry for fuzzy pic, hand is a tad shaky.

I verified winload.efi is where is says it is.

    C:\Users\ztruk>dir \windows\system32\winload.efi
Volume in drive C has no label.
    Volume Serial Number is ECF9-9727

    Directory of C:\windows\system32

    01/30/2020 08:22 PM 1,757,096 winload.efi
    1 File(s) 1,757,096 bytes
    0 Dir(s) 728,307,023,872 bytes free

My system is UEFI/GPT. The 2GB partition is now at the end of a 2TB MBR disk. Removed drive letter after it was setup and added to the boot menu.

I've run DISM and SFC twice. Last run was clean with 0 errors: DismAndSFC_2-15-20.txt

Yet it was not followed and you choose a different approach...
That did not yield the required results..
So it was followed by another method of converting disk layout...
Sorry, but the process followed was not the one I had suggested..
I tried to follow it but could never get Macrium to show me the Q: partition so could never proceed. Therefore I tried other suggested methods, none of which worked.

The method Kari suggested which was to use Macrium just to build the ISO (which I already have) then run the batch file, which is the piece I was missing that resolved the boot menu problems.

Still DOA as it won't boot (see above).

Not sure what the problem is with macrium - possibly it doesn't like the fat32 or maybe it is too small.
No, I did not. Did not know I needed to do that, sorry. I am going to try BootIce again once I get this working and a Macrium Image created. I'm woefully lacking in knowledge in this area and trying these tools and asking questions and getting help from you and others is the best way I know to learn.

Thanks for taking the time to teach!

You mentioned both EasyBCD and EasyUEFI in your post. I commented on that.

Sometimes the boot files don't get written to the disk and the active partition as they should. I discovered that recently when I was having issues getting Macrium and Win10XPE to boot from their own partitions. When I inspected and corrected the boot files (using Bootice) on their respective disks/partitions they booted right up. It might have been that setting the partition as Active didn't properly update the partition boot record.

You are using the Macrium Rescue Media x64 ISO - correct ???

Note: Topgun's, Kari's and My Batch Files all do the same exact thing....................
They all run the bcdedit commands in a Batch file to complete the exact same task

With a UEFI setup you would usually NOT have partition Q set as active
