    Loosing Windows 10 Restore Points

I seem to be loosing my Windows 10 Restore Points.

    Here is my story:
I manually created the 1st restore point on 8 Jan 2019
I manually created the 2nd restore point on 11 Jan 2019
In addition, I manually created a 3rd & 4th restore point two weeks later

But, only the 3rd & 4th restore points show up (along with one done when a Windows update was performed).

I have my system set to 92 GB max usage and my system says only 2.56 GB has been used.

Does anyone know what is going on here.

I would like to keep 2 months worth of restore points.

Hi, if you care to search the forum you may find useful information- this has been raised mutiple times:
    Restore points being deleted
    Windows randomly deletes restore points
Why my restore points are disappearing?
Why do my restore points keep vanishing?

After reading that, please feel free to post back if you have a specific question.

Note that restoring is known to be unreliable... do not soley relay on System Restore- but it's great when it succeeds.

    dalchina,

None of the posts you provided were helpful to my situation. With my system set to 92 GB max usage I should get more than 4 restore points....but I do not.

Yes 90+gb would be mucho restore points. I have just under 6gb set and I get 5.

Are you sure some software is not erasing them. I remember CC cleaner had a setting to delete restore points. Also how are you creating the RP's ?

    Loosing Restore Points

I'm NOT sure some software is not erasing them.

I use CC cleaner but to delete restore points is not an automatic setting, as far as I can tell. You have to purposely select and delete a particular restore point that CC cleaner shows in their list of RPs.

    I'm creating the RP's manually.

Since you stated the older ones seem to disappear, I have to assume somebody is deleting them due to their age. Also that is how CC cleaner does RP maintenance. I would uninstall CC Cleaner and then watch if they stay or get deleted. You have nothing to lose, you can always re-install CC Cleaner if it isn't causing the problem.

I don't know if in one of Dalchina's links, but I remember a case where the user would get restore points deleted because of Macrium. Do you have any other Backup solution in your system???

You only will lose RP's if you used Macrium and have to do a restore, since it doesn't back them up. But making backups via Macrium doesn't clear any RP's.
