I just cloned my boot drive and dragged all partitions to the new m.2 drive I purchased. When it finished it has two separate drives, one with system on it and the other with all other partitions. Don’t know what system is because it won’t let me view it. My EFI is missing from second drive, so I guess it is efi —- this shouldn’t be that difficult. I viewed and followed directions from Macrium Clone video by Compumind. And, by the way, the presentation was excellent. Just didn’t get the result I expected.

Tried to clone a SSD and got bad results until I restored the image, a partition was missing but showed in Partition Wizzard.
