How to activate newly purchased additional Onedrive space

I recently spent $69.99 to buy 1 TB additional storage space for my OneDrive. I downloaded the space (I think) but I'm still getting messages that I have run out of space. Many of my folders in File Explorer have read X's on them. I have about 400 GB total in files and folders so the 1 TB is more than enough. But how do I access it?

Multiple chats and emails with MS have yielded nothing so far.

    I have Win10-64

    Many thanks.

and you don't download Onedrive space. It is allocated to your account in the MS cloud.

    storage space just allotted

Essentially I did buy a subscription that included the 1 TB of space. And yes, I'm only allotted the space. I couldn't download storage space, but I clicked on a link that was supposed to provide the additional cloud space.

This is a work in progress. Microsoft has finally replied and I'm doing some back and forth with them now. It might have to do with my inadvertently having two MS accounts. But time will tell. I will advise.
    Many thanks.

Even if you had 10 Microsoft Accounts, the Microsoft Account you used to make the purchase will be the account affected. Unless, you're hinting you don't remember which account you used?

more than one MS account affects OneDrive

I don't know how I managed to get two MS accounts. The MS tech said they couldn't merge accounts. If I log into the wrong account, I don't get credit for the purchase of additional OneDrive space. So, now know which account to use and I'll not use the other one again.
One minor result was that my mug shot doesn't appear in the upper right corner of Word. No matter how many times I "change" it by entering another picture, I still see just the blank head and shoulders icon. Not a big deal.
    Thanks for the help everyone.
