I ve read the Kari' tutorial of 2016. THE UI Macrium scares me (newbie, novice, indeed).
I ask you all what or which is real easy software (and reliable, of course).
I ve seen NovaBackup,
Minitool Shadow Saver (stopped years ago),
Paragon,
and there are too many.

Macrium is used by just about everybody here. Kari's tutorial is actually pretty easy to follow but here's another one, might be easier:

Note: TH suggests only imaging from a USB. I usually image from the boot menu and keep the USB as a backup (I've had to use it once).

This is for imaging Windows. Note you can image any combination of disks and partitions. Windows comprises several partitions- Macrium has special button to select those for you.
This is only one function and usage of course..
Feel free to search for more; no guarantee as to quality of course.
You will need to decide whether to back up manually (and keep your backup disk offline and secure) or schedule backups - in which case your disk needs to be connected.
Think fire/theft/virus/ransomware.... did I omit asteroid strike?
The one thing that I think is really awkward with the GUI is remembering where to find a way to start a differential image for an existing backup task.
The best method to learn it might be to start a thread stating where you are stuck while trying to make an image..........rather than using a tutorial.
It takes perhaps 10 mouse clicks to make one full image, using Macrium defaults. You might find that simpler than getting bogged down in the details of a tutorial.
If you know what those 10 mouse clicks are, you will have success and can then begin to understand the process and possibly explore the other details of the interface.
Let's see:
Install and open Macrium
On the left side, choose "create an image of the partitions necessary to back up and restore Windows"
On the bottom half of the next screen, choose the destination folder where you want to save the image file.
On the next screen, choose no template and delete the schedule. Under "retention rules", choose full and keep 2 backups. Leave all other boxes unchecked.
On the next screen, you'll see a review of what you've chosen. Choose "finish".
The last screen is "what do you want to do now?" Uncheck the "save backup" box. Make sure "run this backup now" is checked. Accept the default name of the backup.
Poke OK. The process should start, with progress bars. It might take 5 minutes or 45 minutes or more.
When finished, go find the .mrimg file in the destination you chose.
Making an image is only half of it.......you have to know how to restore.
And you can refer to the manual- not just stare at the GUI hoping for inspiration:
