    Hi,
I'm wondering why you're going the long way around the barn through the menu bar when the dvd symbol is right there and about to bite you
Generally, for the first time thru, you must create the PE environment before you have something to burn to DVD or write to a thumb drive. That is the route to do all things related.

I was helping in the way i thought was most useful for the OP. If you would like to continue with this help for the OP, please feel free to do so. I do not appreciate your sarcasm.

I assume the cd I create should be an ISO file?

I'll jump in and answer this if I may... You have the option of making an ISO and burning from that or burning the CD direct. I always bypass the ISO and go the direct route. The choice is yours.

The option in Macrium to burn a CD/DVD will create a bootable CD/DVD directly, all by itself. No need to first create an ISO. You can create an ISO in addition and store it away somewhere, but it is not necessary. It (ISO) could be used to create another CD/DVD. Again, not necessary,

It's not as hard as it looks, all these members are good teachers and can answer your questions.

jps99.... if you haven't created the Windows Recovery Environment yet, and I can't see where you have, if you go directly to burning the CD, it will prompt you to create it first. The Recovery Environment is the data it will burn onto the CD. Just a heads-up.

Windows 10 pro 64-bit cost me a bundle as
they said I had crapped up the previous
version of windows 10 trying to update it myself.

You test it by putting it in the drive and booting from it. Then when the screen comes up, you should be able to browse to where you made your backups, and see them, and choose one to restore if needed. That simple, really.

Where are you storing your backups? External drive?
