    @lovesosa,

    Welcome to TenForums!

    I'm wondering if I could just get some clarification and additional details here.

    First, if you are restoring a system image, am I correct in assuming that this is to address some problem you are experiencing with the system? If so, could you describe what that problem is?

    Second, what steps are you taking to try to restore the system image? Are you booting from Windows install media and electing to restore an image via this restore utility or is your system image one that was created using another program such as Macrium Reflect?

    If you wouldn't mind providing a step-by-step of the process you are following and exactly what is happening it might make addressing your concerns easier.

    Thanks!

    I try doing the system image recovery by holding down the Shift key on my keyboard and restart the PC to get to Windows 10 boot options. I can’t do a system image recovery because every time I try the screen turns black and It says” signal entering the power saving mode shortly”. After I waited 30 minutes, and nothing show up on the screen. It connected to the power adapter. The computer is still on and the fan is running.

    Things I already try:
    "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
    “turn off the Power Saving Mode feature “

    The use of the word 'signal' indicates that the message is from the monitor, not the PC. The monitor has detected a loss of video signal and has entered a power saving mode. You can test that this is the case by disconnecting the monitor while the PC is booted normally, you should then see the same 'power saving' message.

    What model of monitor do you have? Are there any options in its setup menu to disable power saving?

    Explain what you're trying to achieve.
    Are you trying to do a reset back to factory settings (Factory recover)?

    So I needed to do a system image transfer all my data to my new computer but I was able to do it by manually inputting all the files. Now I would like this boot option to work in case of windows fail. It doesn’t let me use any of the boot options because the screen turns blank as I mentioned above.

    @lovesosa -

    Greetings!

    I am quite familiar with this system, so please tell me three things:

    1) Did it work when you received it?
    2) Did you inadvertently disconnect anything from the unit? i.e., a cable.
    3) Do you see the DELL banner when you power-on?

    We can go from there.

    Thanks.

    You have a drive from your previous computer that has your data and you want to make it boot able on your new computer?
    Is that right? If so, what windows version was on it?

    1) Did it work when you received it? No. it didn't work when I got the new desktop.
    2) Did you inadvertently disconnect anything from the unit? no.
    3) Do you see the DELL banner when you power-on? no, I never see it. even when I got the desktop. It starts showing the image when it prompts me to log into my pc account.
    something to add: I'm currently using my DisplayPort and I change it to HDMI and still didn't work. Also, my old desktop with the same monitor allows me to use boot option but the desktop is connected to HDMI. The old desktop only had HDMI port.

    I'm quite confused, forgive me.

    Please don't restore anything...

    However, disconnect your Monitor from the computer (when off) and set it back to Factory Defaults. Then reconnect it to the computer with all power off.

    What happens when all is finally connected and powered on? (Computer, Monitor, etc.)
