All three SR points still present. No major installations or reboots since yesterday so would not expect any additions. Unless the status changes I'll report back after the MR scheduled image run on Sunday 26 Jan.

So, it's down to a Macrium v Microsoft conflict.
I don't use Macrium or any backup software and the System restore points disappear on my PC too without reason and have done for ages. Ive never been able to understand why.All three SR points still present. No major installations or reboots since yesterday so would not expect any additions. Unless the status changes I'll report back after the MR scheduled image run on Sunday 26 Jan.

I've got another thread going that I started that others in this thread have also replied to: Restore Points keep disappearing
Since mine is a brand new pc and I'm depending upon System Restore to bail me out of issues as I customize some settings and install favorite programs - I'm anxious to get this fixed.
Yes, there's many things that can cause this and I've read the other threads and posts - but like you, I'm not using a system imaging programs like MR or Acronis - just Carbonite for file backup.
The only thing I've found is in the Event Viewer>System>Event ID 95 - volume shadow copies being deleted. I don't know if that is just a coincidence or not - but I'm mentioning it in case you want to look there to see if it appears after you've created a restore point that subsequently vanished.
To all, I've just had a support session with Microsoft - the tech understood where I was coming from and looked at the .txt file I saved with that ID95. She: " ·we need to rebuilt the services , by going to services.msc
·downloaded the VSS file , re-built the registry for VSS (volume shadow copy)"
She created a new restore point at 1/2 hour ago and I'll watch and see if it stays or vanishes. If this was a fix "for me", then I'll post that answer in my original thread.
