    Aomei Backupper Restore Problem

Aomei Backupper Professional Verion 5.3.0 installed. (Windows Version in my Signature) Everything seems to work ok until I try to RESTORE System Image. When the restore process gets to the "select destination for the file you wish to restore" screen. The only drive showing is the one on which I saved the image (D). My Windows installed disk (C)is not showing as a choice to select . Does anyone know how to make it show the proper destination disk as a selection? I have contacted Aomei Support, but so far I haven't received a solution. Thanks, John

Suggest you check the partition exists by other means - e.g. a live boot disk of various possible kinds if your system won't boot, including e.g. a Win 10 bootable medium, via command prompt (Repair your computer, advanced startup options).

Dalchina, not sure what you mean, but the system boots fine and restores properly using Macrium Reflect restore option and/or usb disk. Just can't restore with Aomei Backupper - tho it boots to the restore menu and up to the point of selecting the destination disk.

I did not know whether your system was bootable (you didn't say) so one assumption might have been that you were booting from a bootable medium and trying to restore Windows (because it was unbootable).

You said you couldn't find C: as an option, so the next logical step was to make sure the partition was actually present. If it was't present (partition table problem e.g.) then that would explain why it couldn't be found.

Hence my question, lacking any positive evidence that C: actually existed.

Suggest this is product specific, rather than general Win 10, and better referred to an Aomei forum. You might be lucky...

Using Aomei 4.6.3 , together with latest Macrium , for backup/restore.
I find version 4.6.3 better then 5-version ( easier to work with ), Macrium is my absolute favorite , but used Aomei also sometimes.
It made a perfect restoration , no problems .
    Have to say ; I always choose for ; diskbackup ( choose C:\ with system-partition ) , never OS-backup ( this might go wrong ) !!
    Always verifying also ..........
Try it , you will see this way goes better ............!

You are using their Bootable Media correct
As you would need to restore the OS Partition OFFLINE
although you can Backup the OS while ONLINE

If you are using thier Boot Media and it does not find C:\
It may not assign C to that partition
    Verify it found the Disk
else you may have to add your storage driver to their media

I am backing up while online, trying to restore while offline. How do I verify it found disk? Backup seems to indicate Window disk was found during backup. Am not sure how to add storage driver to their media tho....sorry,this seems to be a little above my knowledge level -lol.

If I understand you correctly Macrium works just fine but Aomei doesn't. Why not just use Macrium then ?

You are right - and I think I am forced to do just that since my pc specs obviously are not compatible with very many restore programs. It is hdd with optane memory, which I believe includes the boot. Specs are:
    Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi5O Desktop, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8400, 8GB DDR4 + 16GB Optane Memory, 1TB HDD

Oh, well, live and learn....thanks for all the posts.
