Same. I wait.
That said Macrium is worth it's weight in gold. Yesterday I was transferring a machine. The ability to restore to different size partitions with simply clicks and the "Fix Boot Issues" make life very simple. I have about 38 clients running Macrium and Macrium protects all my devices.
8.1.7771 installed and made RE Rescue media. Used that media to restore a backup and got strange behavior. A couple things, but mainly after the restore, "out of memory" errors when trying to "remove" the image from the list. Basically it restored the image but then seized up to anything else.
DO NOT TRUST!
Back to 8.1.7675

Bug fixes and Security Updates v8.0.7783 - 1st December 2023
Rescue Media
We have successfully addressed a longstanding issue related to the rescue media, rectifying the potential failure to auto-populate the 'Existing Backups' view. The root cause of this problem was identified as a change, made by Windows Update on some systems, to a GPT attribute setting that concealed the system volume at PE startup.
I'll wait a while longer after 3 updates within a week. Is there something wrong with Macrium these days?
Whar's the point in holding off?
None of tbe updates affected the core backup and restore mechanism just minor gui related glitches.
By holding off, you may be holding onto bugs that have been fixed?
The point is there is never an optimum time to upgrade. Any new build could introduce a new bug.
Even the recent flawed upgrade only introduced minor irritations (main one being list of backups was not visible but you could still navigate to them and select them.
A more logical plan is maybe to wait and see user feedback. However, if you wait until next release you are stuck in a trap as you can never be sure if latest build has introduced a bug. This is exactly the same argument with Windows Updates.
Release notes: Macrium Reflect Patch Details
It's been a day now since my Reflect Free v8.0 started reporting this patch as available, but it still reports HTTP error 403 if I try to download it.
However, at least the Reflect Free Download Agent will now download the full installer for v8.0.7783, so I can update my Reflect Free that way.
