CBT installed and I just safely ejected a USB drive, Only thing I didn't install is that image protection thingy as it takes some resources.
was that a usb HDD or a flash drive? This bug only seems to affect HDDs.

It was an 120GB SSD SATA to USB3 adapter. Now thinking of it,it's closer to flash drive than HDD but I don't have any portable HDDs. to try with, just SSD and flash drives.

On official site is only version 8.0 for download, not 8.1. So 8.1 is somewhere in beta?

No, there is a problem with 8.1 making some machines not able to boot into Windows. It's been pulled for investigation.

The official version has been pulled but the Beta version will be still there for the Beta Testers who get sent links but they are not permitted to pass links to other users (I have been a Beta Tester in the past).

On the past, Beta versions have been known to make it into the wild.

I have no idea what would happen to a Beta tester who was caught passing on a Beta link e.g. as a minimum, they would be banned fron Beta testing.

Yes, as cereberus says v8.1 was pulled shortly after it was released. I got it on the first of my 4 licensed machines before it was puled. See this thread on the Macrium forum for more details.

PC does not boot anymore after 8.1 upgrade

As a side note, the v8.1.7280 'patch' was actually a full install. I found and saved a copy the installer while it was patching my machine. I wonder if I dare try it on my other three?

Yeah, it seems if you can get it past the first reboot it works just fine.

I don't think showing your license number is a good idea.
