A while back i did my clean install to Windows 11 Pro on my Supported Desktop, a few days later i decided well i guess i'll make this 4TB drive internal, as needed a better External enclosure for my 8TB backup drive to go in

Fast forward a few weeks, goto setup teams chat in Windows 11, or Install Teams from Microsoft site--gives the following error

    Volume E is offline
But using Volume E quite a bit, could it be looking for the old 1TB drive?
App installation failed with error message: Windows cannot install package MicrosoftTeams_21323.200.1078.109_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe to volume E: with media ID {20202020-5720-2D44-26E0-9A7AD1244026} because the volume is offline. (0x80073d0d)

Any ideas how i'd solve this? should i take an Image of the 4TB drive once i have another Enclosure sometime after Christmas, and reinstall the 1TB drive Internally, and restore the image to the 1TB, and see if it would setup right then.

Or should i just wait til next Windows 11 major update and do a complete clean install then again, and hopefully fix the issue for good
((probably should've asked this in elevenforum, but maybe i'll still get answer here lol, if not oops lol))

Try a "repair install" to see if that will fix Teams. Mount the Win 11 ISO, run setup and select repair. You will not loose any data or app installs.

Worth a shot in coming days here, and see if it does fix it. I mean i don't really need to use Teams all that much as yet, but wanted it available if and when i wanted to use it lol.

Anyone else notice in V8 that if you want to modify the size of a partition when restoring to another device you cant just put in you want to have in the after: section 600MB free space at the end of the drive anymore you need to lower it seems by at least 1GB and even then it does not seem to work right. The sliders and buttons seem to do nothing compared to how V7 just worked.

It is a bit cack handed but if you click on down arrow on top section (by 402), as that decreases, the space after on bottom section goes up.

Then you can move whole partion to right or back to left.

I.e. top line reduces size, lower two line move to left and right.

I assume you are shrinking C drive so you can put recovery partion at end which was the v7 way.

Assuming you have these 4 partions: EFI, MSR, C drive, Recovery Drive, then all you hace to do is as follows:

    Assuming target drive is empty,

    1) Drag partions 1, 2 and 4 BUT not C drive yet to target.

    2) select last partition marked 4 and click on Float Right in icons above.Last partition moves right to end.

    3) Now select C drive and drag it to space between partition 2 and 4. It is automatically resized to fill the gap.

No messing around with size bars anymore.

Sorry been busy but yeah basically if I try that it does not lower at all lol its a bug. I have to lower it by at least a 1GB to get any movement below before you could go 1MB etc. It's not the end of the world just sucks as well as the all black icons are hard to see imo but that's preference.

I was able to move in much smaller increments - not sure why you are getting a problem.

    Maybe SSD alignment.

Hmm perhaps, I'll have to experiment with it further later. For now if a client gets a new ssd to swap to from a hdd they just are gonna lose some unallocated space for now. It's normally only 300MB's but before I would only lose about 0-30MB.
