Has anyone successfully cloned a W10 OS from a 2.5" SATA SSD to a M.2 slot? It looks pretty straightforward, last time for me was HDD -> HDD.

I did a redeploy to different hardware, not quite the same. The OS I did was on an EVO 850. Booted from my PE Thumb and did a drag and drop from SSD to M.2. Then immediately after restore, used the redeploy option under Restore tab at top. It let me straighten out most drivers and the OS did boot cleanly. Then I manual went and got the few missing drivers. Reasonably painless. I'm not a fan of CLONE due to the issue of SSID (think that's the term) clashes being a possibility.

Table implies they prevent duplication of GUIDs under certain situations and a restore may duplicate the GUID under some situations.

SSID if for WiFi

I have used MTPW in the Past to fix this Issue, (Guid/Serial No#) but would assume other Partition/Disk Managers can handle it too.

Usually it just means you can't see one in Windows due to the conflict , but MTPW still sees all Attached Disks.

I currently use MR7 free version 7.3 build no. 6391.
If I go to the MR website for 50% off v8 soon.
Will I need to uninstall MR7 v7 free on my Dell before downloading new MR8 paid version software? or can I click on that 'update license key' deal in help tab?

(My Dell had an image restore problem on Nov 17 evening which stopped my computing for maybe 15 hours until I got it going on Nov 18 with an image from June 23, 2021; wrong drive letters or something(?)). Afterwards installed the patch and made new boot CD.

I'm doing something similar.

I am not uninstalling V7 before installing V8. My V7 is licensed but I am uninstalling the licensing key prior to upgrading so in effect I'm making my V7 the free version.

The V8 installation is over writing the V7 installation.

You will need to update your rescue media, boot if using, and USB thumbdrive. I would use a second USB thumbdrive for the V8 installation.

I always use two USB thumbdrives for rescue media and alternate them.
