Nope. Using the old recovery usb the images are displayed correctly and the drive letters are correctly assigned. What happens on a restore I've not checked.
You misunderstand my point. If you create it from Windows with latest version, the drive letters are screwed up at write time, Using an older recovery drive does not work as it still sees the screwed up letters. I have checked a restore.

Sure you can backup with an earlier version and all will be fine.

The restore works if you have screwed up letters in image - the C drive always gets set by windows at boot time. The other drivers get reassigned incorrect letters but simple enough to reassign. So this bug is irritating but no serious.

    Hi,
Yep love reflect and all but I don't like some of the bugs updating create

I love the winpe recovery the most for creating and restoring system images and old saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Same two year old winpe recovery not only works for win-7 it also works on win-10 and now 11 lol
Might even work on linux if the home folder isn't encrypted

I only have the Windows partition with a letter on the image but this is what the restore looks like.

Image made yesterday after the updates. All the partitions match up and Windows in the source and destination is assigned C:.

Edit: I have now checked an image of a different partition made today and it is showing with the correct drive letter using the old USB drive.

    " if it ain't broke don't fix it."...........for sure !
No need for creating updated boot-media , except if the changelog shows changes for the media .........

I also have the problem Steve. It has already been reported on their forum here 8.0.6353: Drive letter assignments all wrong and I have linked back to your post here.
    Thank you Keith

I'm guessing they broke it thanks to Windows 11 . From the Macrium Reflect v8.0.6353 change log:

"Support has been added in RMBuilder for the Windows 11 PE Rescue Environment.
The rescue media now correctly automatically assigns drive letter 'C' to the Windows 11 system drive. "

All the red errors illustrates the issue I was seeing: 8.0.6353: Drive letter assignments all wrong

Expecting a new update (very) soon.................

Untill then , you can still use the previous , 8.0.6161 , if you encountered drive-letter problems .
Dont have these problems ( yet?) , so will keep using 8.0.6350/53............

Hmmm....I tried downloading the update, It was downloading, then I had to reboot (not paying attention to the d/l). Rebooted, went back into Macrium and now I just get Error when I try to d/l it. But it's telling me that I need the update. So, anyone know where Macrium put this d/l so I can go find it and delete it, and start over?

What version do you currently have? The latest 8.0.6353 is broken - you don't want it.
