I found the fix Ken, for my 2560 x 1440 resolution issue when booting to MR's rescue disk. Just had to turn ON a setting in my bios. I had the CSM setting OFF ... Turning it on, now gives me lots of choices for screen size. I now use 1024 x 768 and it makes the screen much easier to read.

My 2nd pc never had this issue TC ....different monitors. It was the monitor on this rig that was causing my 2560 x 1440 Could not find a way to override it till this morning.
