I am serious abot splitting ppsts. V7 is still supported for a while, and many will not update to V8. Eventually V7 will fade but not for a while.

I know you are, Martin. And what you say has merit. But as you are aware, cross-pollination is quite common in similar threads. Some even spawn their own. So far, there has been some success in splitting off discussion into it's own thread, for a few different subjects. Never quite there, but almost. So...... I do understand, but .........

I don't understand it either. I took it that @cereberus was making a joke. Maybe I am mistaken...

I see no real need to split the thread. With the release of a new version the extended support for the previous version seems to be just few maintenance patches for significant bugs. There were just six patches for v6 in the year of support after v7 was released, then one more after extended support ended to cope with incompatibilities introduced by W10 v1903 which broke all versions of Reflect.

    Macrium Reflect v6 Patch Details

I don't expect there will be many more patches needed for v7.

What do you think, @Brink? Can you make this happen please?
It's my thread, you don't like the name create your own
Als it's not called Macrium 6 or 7 or 8 it's called "New Macrium Reflect Updates".
The newest version is on the 1st post, and older versions are in the thread, you all just nee to follow the thread, and stop asking for help here, or chit-chatting, and just post when you find an update.

My take on this is that a new thread for V7 would be at best superfluous. ... Human natural tendency, as we all know, is to go for the latest and newest trend. That means most users are going for V8 free or paid version. I am having difficulty seeing someone stay on V7 unless there is a specific reason.

    In a way, I agree with @Bree.

If somebody finds and posts about any update or has a questin, it would be enough just to state for which version it is. No conflicts there.

Problem is somebody posts an issue related to MR7 and people reply. At same time somebody posts about MR 8 and people reply, and it is hard to follow chains.

What is the big deal to split them up to make it clearer for us? No matter what the negativists here say, some people will be using MR7 for years to come. Truth is people often use this thread for general posting rather than setting up new threads.

Hell, look at Macrium Forum, they separate MR8 posts from MR7 posts for clarity.

Indeed we have completely separate W7 and W8 forums.

So, instead of debating this endlessly, just do it or provide a REAL reason not to do it other than a vague MR7 ceases to be updated at some unspecified point!
