I can't test that... it downloads and installs, automatically.

    /edit

I unchecked the install immediately and it downloaded this...

...and I already have the paid version 8.0.5903 installed. Weird.
I did this in a VM to test. I dl'd using your link. I got this far. and stopped. didn't need to go further. The stub saying V8 downloads and installs V7.

I also just downloaded the one from MajorGeeks and it IS the version 8.0.5903 installer.
    I chose: Download (EXE)

Download Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - MajorGeeks

It also scans clean at Virustotal...

    Good look... @IownAmoneyPit and @f14tomcat - Thanks @Ghot

I already installed the free v8 earlier from MajorGeeks using the Download (EXE) link and will wait to update my Paid v7 when the bugs are squashed.

I am under the impression that this upgrade was not completely baked. As MR said it themselves there are some little bugs that need to be fixed, like the different themes are not playing nice on my machine (I had to stay on "Light"), all my backup definitions disappear and I had to recreate them, not to mention some of the new addenda that I have to try to understand... Pretty sure that a new update for this version is not too far away. Just my feeling!

As @CountMike posted earlier you can also get v8 at MajorGeeks but only the DOWNLOAD (EXE) link downloaded v8, the others I got v7.

Yes, I used the EXE, and it installed 'over the top' nicely.

I will hold back from updating to version 8 free via MajorGeeks on other machines as it tries to 'update' to version 7

Glad to know I'm not the only one who is experiencing that.

Since I already installed v8, I'm going to leave it in place as I'm feeling confident Macrium will resolve this issue within days.

Yeah I got that on one of mine. I just cancelled the "Update" and it seems ok so far.

I contacted Macrium last week as an existing licence holder and was given the offer of two new v7 licences for £31 which is significantly cheaper than the 50% off offer for upgrading the existing licences. I just removed the old v7 licences and changed the v7 licences to the new ones. I was then offered the free upgrade to v8 which works fine.

My first impression is that the menu fonts are tiny on a 1920x1080 15" laptop display and there is no way of changing them. Have told Macrium they need to fix this.

If anyone else finds the fonts too small i've started a thread in the V8 forum. https://forum.macrium.com/post/47053
