The "support" only lasts for a year. Updates keep going though.

How does one upgrade from within the software (MR)?. Is it by clicking "Update license key" from the Help tab in the menu bar?

No. There should be a "Check for Updates".

I had both... Update License Key and Check for Updates.
If you paid for it recently, you should have a Check for Updates.

Check for Updates is under "Other Tasks"... NOT under "Help".

Pretty sure it depends on "when" you paid for the previous version.

The first time I paid for Macrium was version 7.3 on April 8th 2021

I did Check for Updates and it updated me to version 7.3.5854, and said to reboot. So I did.
Then when I got back to desktop, I opened MR and up popped a tiny dialog box, offering me version 8...

I was on version 7.3.5365, and it wasn't offering me version 8.

    So I called US (347-565-5912) option 1
I asked the guy what was going on? He said I needed to update to version 7.3.5854 (latest version).
Then it "offered" version 8 to me, at no cost.

    /edit

Was a nice guy... spoke fluent English, etc. He said they were having a few issues with the updates, and that they just released version 8 about 3 hours ago. About 4.5 hours ago, now.

    /edit2

Btw... when it does update to version 8, it gives you a new product key. Make sure you copy it down somewhere.
It does show you the product key (license key) on the Help > About dialog.

With Macrium if they owe you support they will correct their records with just about no questions asked.

    Likely some glitches their end.

I had moved a paid for Macrium to another machine due to a complete crash. Sent them email and almost immediately they responded.

If you don't want to call email

Sorry TC, the "Update license key" from the Help tab in the menu bar didn't do the trick. I had to go a bit below in the tool bar and click on the Earth globe "Check for product update on the internet". From there, everything was a breeze.

Then I misinterpreted. Upgrade vs Update. I took Upgrade to be to a new version, V8, and Update to get updates to current version. Guess it's easy to crosscominglerate. (nice word, huh? )
