Can someone ask them for more informations??
The link they provided, infact, does not allow me to understand nothing except that very few have had issues due to that particular update...

You can basically do it yourself by going to the MR forum page, or more specifically to the link provided by @f14tomcat in his post # 675.

When you see wording like this, it may very likely be Security Updates related, and neither party, MS nor MR, will publicly divulge the detail nature. That is SOP. "Recent Updates" likely refers to the 3/10 Patch Tuesday updates, which are virtually 100% security updates.

Anyone else having problems ejecting external USB drives since this latest Macrium update?

I have an external "ORICO" USB3 external hard drive dock and I keep my Macrium images on a spare SSD. Since the new update I keep getting this attached message - even after I wait up to 5 minutes. I also have a little program called USB Disk Ejector which I've been using for quite a while and I can't safely eject the drive with that either.

It is definitely the latest Macrium update causing it because I've restored an image from the 18th March and everything is OK but as soon as I update the same thing happens.

I'm going back to the 18th March image again for now.

Edit: I've waited over 10 minutes now while I've been preparing this post - still the same.

Oh, this is the Full (Paid) version of Macrium Reflect that I'm using with Windows 10 Professional 1909 64bit.

Just tried rolling back to the image from the 18th again, Same result - no problem with ejecting the USB external drive until I update Macrium Reflect.

Gone back to the 18th March image again (with the previous Macrium version) for now.

i have an Orico USB 3.0 as well that I use to keep Macrium backups of my VMs. The backups are configured to validate When they complete. I never eject it the drive but simply turn it off after the backups finish running. So far no issues. Why fo you feel the need to eject it?

    Hi.

I suppose I could probably leave it in there but I also have other SSD's and HD's that I use in the dock from time to time.

Ideally backups should NOT be left connected in my opinion.

They are in the same physical area as computer therefore both exposed to the same risk of fire / water / theft, and should there be an electrical issue, there is always the chance it creeps through. Lightning travels in some mysterious ways.

Ideally you should have both local & remote to balance convenience and security.
