    WinRE has WiFi support.

The main advantage of using RE over PE is support for WiFi. When you make the WinRE rescue media it includes you WiFi password and will automatically connect when you boot from it.
Thanks, kado and Bree. Then I can safely stick with WinPE. I like to delete the repair partition from my non-Insider machines to save space since I can always use Windows install media if I ever have problems.

If space is your primary concern then WinPE rescue media is smaller than WinRE, about 320MB vs. about 660MB.

So, I am still having issues with Macrium not allowing me to build any form of rescue media, USB, ISO...cant do it. When I try Macrium insists on downloading 938Mb of "missing components" regardless of the fact the components are already there, then gets stuck in a loop of needing to download a 205Kb file, going through the motions over and over.
I have tried deleting the Macrium created boot folder and re running the creation of rescue media, but Macrium just downloads the exact same files and gets stuck in a loop again. Even if I point Macrium to a custom WIM it insists on downloading the 938Mb all over again and seems to ignore my choices.
The imaging side works fine, restoring works fine, mounting images to browse contents works fine....just cannot create rescue media of any type. There are posts on Macrium's forums now about this issue.

Can't see what you're looking at, but it sounds like it keeps downloading the PE environment files. At the bottom of the Build Rescue screen is Advanced. Go there and choose RE, not one of the PEs.

Or you can browse for your original download of macrium for your pe.zip file if you want to continue with pe environment

RE= no files to download, already part of Windows, gets updated as Windows does, if needed.. PE= might need for older configs and versions of Windows. Otherwise, not much.

I think RE supports WiFi, PE not.
