I'm not sure about this, but when I've formatted a flash drive to be something other than Fat 32, it won't work even if I've gone back and reformatted it into Fat 32. Just keeps telling me it ain't agonna work!
Try deleting the partition on the flash and re doing it from scratch.

" Try deleting the partition on the flash "..........no partition on this USB-sticky !
Formatted it a few times , which type of formatting should I choose , FAT Standard , FAT 32 , NTFS, etc.........???
    Why Macrium "says " ; " GPT not supported " , when choosing the USB-sticky for resque boot-media ??

Bootable thumbs need to be MBR and Fat32. Rufus not needed for any of this for Macrium, unless you made the ISO and want to use it for that. Let Macrium do the work.

    Should be "fat 32"

Just a side note : When you format, you are placing a format on a partition.

In Disk Management or minitool Partition manager You will see those partitions or
    Unallocated space.
The flash drive is no different. It has a partition you can format

" Let Macrium do the work "...........yes ,tried indeed , coz all other options failed !
    In Macrium , all backup-options showed , ISO-file, CD-drive A, CD-drive B, SD-card ..........the USB-sticky option is greyed out , ( GPT not supported ).............??

" It has a partition you can format ".........so, when right-click on the USB-sticky and choosing for "format FAT32 " , will do the job ,y/n.......??

I'm pretty sure it has to be MBR, not GPT to boot. Fat32 and MBR, not GPT. Others know DISKPART wizardry to force that, I do not.

Get it into MBR/Fat32 and it will not be greyed out.

An MBR and fat32 Rescue Drive will boot on either UEFI or legacy bios.

There is no need to create GPT drive. It is a common fallacy that a drive has to be GPT to boot in 64bit Windows.

That's what I recall, also. Just because any "target" drive that you're going to work with may be GPT, the bootable device S/B MBR. After it's loaded, it couldn't care less.
