If I buy (one-time purchase) Home Edition, am I elegible for updates and access to Customer forums indefinitely, or just for 1 year, like customer support? By update I mean bugfixes and security patches, not an upgrade to a newer major version like 8.2 or 9.0.

You will get, as I understand it, all updates to version 8.x and access to their forum. At least I get that. When 9.x comes out there is usually price discount for everyone that owns the previous release.

I bought my 8.x license and support has expired. I still get software updates and I access and post on forum.

Usually you will find Macrium on sale for 20% off. They run, or did run, sales pretty regularly. For sure there is always a Black Friday sale. You can always contact sales and ask if they are running a sale, they may even just give you the discount.

Have a look at this thread which also mentions access to forum.

I appreciate the feedback. MR has saved me so many times and they are decent enough to not cripple the free version, which still works, that I feel a moral obligation to buy a license, it's an investment at this point. Not only that, but lifetime access to the forums is very enticing.

I'll wait for the next sale to buy, what's the best way to get notified of them?

You can watch this thread, which you are now doing. People post it here although I would also watch the Elevenforum thread. Same folks, maybe someone posts there and not here.

You can also follow them on Twitter or what is now "X". Think they are on most social feeds.

As I said I would just contact them through email and ask when they expect the next 20% sale. They very well will give it to you then and there. Back to school is coming up, maybe then.

So given that the WinRe.win has been updated to support Revocation, what should Macrium show as the base Wim?

I clicked "Advance" and on tab "Choose Base Wim" I selected "Windows RE".

Macrium shows that it is using Windows 10 RE Version 2004 (64-Bit). That version seems old.

The device is running 22H2 full patched (19045.3324 from winver)

Nothing wrong with that, 2004 was build 19041, all subsequent feature updates have been by enablement package. The system files are still basically build 19041 and WinRE.wim reports itself as such.

Windows 10, versions 2004, 20H2, and 21H1 share a common core operating system with an identical set of system files.
