Do you just Patch it Mike or Reinstall it. I was going to do a clean as this is the 2nd Patch that I put on this? Do you think it is necessary?
Occasionally the patch will download as a full installer and do a complete reinstall. Most patches just patch a few files. Either way, I start the patch doing it's work from within Macrium Reflect rather than downloading and reinstalling myself.

That's exactly how I do mine too.

Just updated to v8.0.6635 and recreated my Rescue USB stick.

    I would definitely agree with

I recreate Rescue Media after every update as it keeps all the header info as you start package up to date. I keep a copy of the last two or three isos, in case latest one failed to restore, but that has only happened once in last five years and issue was fixed within same day!

Also updated my special Macrium usb wrist strap drive.

This is what happened when I tried to update from 8.0.6392 to 8.0 6584

    Attachment 361253

    Attachment 361254

    Attachment 361255

    Attachment 361256

    Attachment 361257

Tried updating several times with the same result. Tried reverting back to 8.0.6353, and 8.0.6560, but that did not change things. I tried repairing, etc., but once the damage was done, that was it.

Could only boot to the Macrium environment was with the USB Or CD. The only way to get back to normal was was an image restore.

Everything seems to works fine with 8.0.6353, but what concerns me is I didn't see anyone else here reporting a similar esperience

Note: The last two images posted above were really just one image, but no matter what I tried, this sites attachment manager would not upload the picture I originally took, so I found the similar images elsewhere.
I tried to update to 8.0 Build 6635, but the same thing happened.

Can someone at least refer me to where I can go for help?

Also, their ticket support response is excellent if you have paid for your licence.

I figured it out. I always use the "full" installer, around 172mb in size, from Softpedia, Major Geek, etc., instead of ReflectDLHF.exe (5.37mb) from the Macrium website, which gives us two options

    Option #1

    Or, option #2

which calls for you to accept, as part of a much longer install process, that 937.8mb download consisting of PE components

In the past, I used the "full" installer. I may very well be wrong, but, In that scenario, I don't recall having to do the following: After installing, if you want to create the boot environment (Create Rescue Media), you must navigate from "Advanced"

to "Choose Base WIM", to select the option that is appropriate for your system (Windows PE 10 for me)

I would never download the full installer from any 3rd party site.

You do know that ReflectDLHF.exe will download the full installer from Macrium? If you want to download the full installer without immediately installing it, then on the ReflectDLHF first screen untick 'Run installer directly after downloading'.

A system backup app is the very last thing I would ever, ever, ever download from anybody but the Software Vendor. I saw Softpedia in the post and the hair went up on the back of my neck!
