    Cannot restore boot record with new macrium 8. Anyone have this problem? I followed macrium help instructions but fix boot does not come up

    My v8 trial expired today and I chose Free. Now running v8.0.5994 Free. No dark mode on Free.

    Well, it comes up if you are doing a restore-so I needed to restore but not really. Just needed to fix boot record so it would boot after I deleted the partition where I had attempted to install windows 11. Left an entry in boot record and kept giving that ugly recovery page.

    The interesting thing will be if you get updates next time there are any if before Free version is officially released.

    Yes, it should get updates. I have installed v8 Free* and it got all the updates.


    * I installed the 30-day Trial, then changed the Licence key to the v8 Free key. I found the v8 Free key by removing the licence from my v8 Home which reverted it to v8 Free, took a note of the key, then restored its licence.

    I have trial version running on my Insider W11 that is due to expire 7/23. Wonder how close I'll get to the official Free one anyway.
