    The time it takes for a Restore to complete, according to my own experience, is in direct relation to the time the backup was taken. A restore from a backup made yesterday will take longer than a backup taken this morning (usually 3- 5 minutes). A restore from a backup taken last week will take longer to restore (1 hr or 1hr 30) and so on...

    That's interesting - I was assuming it had more to do with one's hardware ( HDD or SSD, type of CPU, etc ).
    On the few occasions I've restored an image, It's always taken about 20-25 minutes.

    That's the Rapid Delta Feature. Restores changed block only. Farther back in time you go, the higher the likelihood of a block being changed. More elapsed time = more changed blocks = more restore time.

    That's not my experience. If I'm restoring a full image to the same PC and it takes 15 minutes today, it will be 15 minutes a month from now.

    It depends first and foremost on whether your Macrium is Free of paid. Rapid Delta Restore is a Premium feature. Next it depends on whether you have enabled it...

    ..but in my experience the comes a point where there are so many changes that even Rapid Delta Restore says 'too different - performing full restore'.

    My experience is with the free version and full backups, so I can understand differential backups and paid version being faster now that you spelled out the details Bree.

    I am using a paid version of MR for each of my machines and Rapid Delta feature was and always has been enabled. And the length of time taken for a restore to complete could have many variables, but one of them ought to be the time the backup was taken.

If you ask me, Macrium Reflect should be obligatory, first application installed after installing Windows 10. Users often think it as just another backup application but in fact it is much more, giving more than any other free imaging solution....
