Yes, I used to use it a lot, particularly for my System Two test machine ... But.....

It can be incredibly temperamental, its most common failing being (for no apparent reason) not to be able to recognise an image that could be restored. see this Google search

I stopped using it when Microsoft broke it in 32-bit 1803 and never bothered to fix it for the entire supported life of 1803. That's when I switched to Macrium
I switched to MR while still in 7. I got the paid version since at the time there was no free one. I only Got MR because it was faster and now I am glad I did. I did have some issues with it with my new PC but that was due to the fact I never used UEFI before.

Why not, MS might learn something and get some fast (trouble)shooters.
Let's not mix apples and oranges. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", the old adage. On the other hand, it is totally beyond me that people are still using Microsoft (Windows) own integrated Backup & restore. It has never been reliable; it is slow and takes too long like an eternity. To that, all I have to say is:

I use W7 BU mostly for previous file versions, probably overkill, that's just me.

To be fair, this is a rare event and although a PITA, it really demonstrates the support is really good.

Generally, most bugs are pretty obscure and rarely affect normal activities.

    Matter of perspective.
    Very true.

Their "bugs" are usually on the more complicated stuff, that maybe large companies use.
None have ever affected me, because I use Macrium like Windows 7's old backup.
Just a simple full auto-image once a month, a few manual in between like before major system or software updates, and sometimes one just because
This is the reason I even chose Macrium above other options since Windows 8 & 8.1.

I eventually learned I could do other thing's with it, like do a dirty clean install, then just reimage the C. drive, when Windows 10 starts creating too many Recovery partitions(why Microsoft, why?)

If, "everything is broken", then you already know what's broken.

Rather, when everything is broken, just fix the one that bothers you...

    Update!

    Initial Macrium Reflect v7.3 Public Release v7.3.5281 - 14th October 2020

We recommend all users upgrade to this release.

    Initial v7.3 Release
Please see this KB article for more information on what's included.

    Changed Block Tracker
After performing a restore of a non-system volume for which CBT had been enabled, CBT could become disabled on that volume and would not re-enable until the system had been restarted. This has been resolved.

    Email Notifications
We've enhanced OpenSSL integration and upgraded to 1.1.1h to address any potential security concerns.
