I can't select my external drive for copies in File history

    Hello,

I am trying to activate File History feature in windows 10, but I can not because Its says than No drive found that can be used. But I have attached a external USB HDD and I have another internal HDD, in addition of my windows system SSD drive. I cannot select neither the external nor internal HDD. I think that when installed windows 10, some weeks ago, I could select either the internal or external HDD, but now, I can`t. Any solution?.

    Hi Pilovar

Here is the forum's tutorial on File History.

Select Drive for File History in Windows 10

At the end of the tutorial are related tutorials. The first being "Reset File History to Default in Windows 10". This may clear the error you experiencing.

If you plug these devices in can you access them outside of file history.

Will file explorer access them. Can you create a txt file on the drive?

Maybe post a screen shot from disk management, could help a member identify what is wrong.

I can use the disks normally, except file history, are F: and G: (C: and E: are a in a SSD partitioned)

I can't select my external drive for copies in File history-screenshot_2.jpg

G: is an internal SATA HDD.
F: is a external USB HDD.

Select Drive for File History in Windows 10

Can you please post screenshots showing what you see when you try to allocate a file history drive?
    - should be something like those in that tutorial.
To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post.

Did you click on that if intending to change the drive?

When you ran the reset did you unblock the file.

I would also run as admin.

Yes, I run reset file as admin.

Captures of File History (in spanish):

I can't select my external drive for copies in File history-screenshot_1.jpg

I can't select my external drive for copies in File history-screenshot_3.jpg

It says that no drive found that can be used. Search or add drive not found anything.
