    Lost my Macrium

I have lost my Macrium through a reset. I have back ups on my external drive but don't know how to get at them also, I don't know how to create a new back up. All the info I have recorded seems to be useless, can only help please?

Have you tried downloading a new copy of the program?

Not sure what you mean by lost Macrium..
But a reset may have knocked out the App or the Boot Menu Option

either way you can download macrium Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free
and reinstall and then recreate boot media with option to create Boot Files

    Lost my Macrium

Thank you gentlemen, I have in fact the programme Macrium Free and that is far as I have got. I am not sure about rebooting etc and the other advice given. Would you please send instructions in an easy way and bear in mind you are dealing with a dodling 87 old man. I do appreciate your responses and am very grateful for them. As I say, I have Macrium Free installed and also have a load of previous back ups on my Western Elements external drive. That's as far as I have been able to get.

    Hi,
You can open reflect/ macrium and point it to where ever your back system images are with the restore section option Browse for an image.

    Hi Ron,
Remember when @f14tomcat helped you set up macrium reflect to make image backups? Maybe, if you have reinstalled Macrium, you just need to create a new backup definition ( and make a new bootable rescue usb or disk ) like you did before, to get access to your backup images again. Click on 'My Content' at the top of this page to find that old thread.
    Cheers,
    Eddie.

    Eddie,
Thanks for that. Unfortunately, because everything was wiped from my computer, there are no items showing in My Contents. My Windows10 account was wiped too. What a mess. I will try to find F14tomcat and send him a private email and ask for his help. Trouble is I don't know what comes before @

    Hi Ron,

You need to use the MR Rescue thumb drive you made.

Restore back to a date before you did the Reset.

It will bring your Windows10 account back and everything else you lost.

    I agree.

    Ron,

You need to 'restore' the system image that you made using Macrium. That will return your OS to the state it was in when you made that OS image.

I think you looked at this before
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect - TenForumsTutorials

I hesitated to reply to this thread because I now also have to start asking questions about
    - whether you have updated any of your own files since the 'reset'
    - what backup provision you made for you own files / is the OS image the only backup you do
and all this can get pretty convoluted. So let me repeat,
You need to 'restore' the system image that you made using Macrium. That will return your OS to the state it was in when you made that OS image.

Lots of people here are able & willing to talk you through all this.

In the future, never 'reset' the system. If a fault is so serious that you cannot fix it then 'restore' the system image that you made using Macrium. That will return your OS to the state it was in when you made that OS image.

Why did you 'reset' the system?

    Lost my Macrium

    Hi Denis,
Thank you very much for your response, much obliged. In fact it wasn't me who did the restore, it was someone who was recommended as an 'expert' , no further comment. The computer was returned with all my documents and pictures but minus all my programmes, including Windows10 Forum. I have been slowly trying to reinstall all my photographic programmes etc and am getting there very slowly. Believe me when I say, I really do appreciate all the help I am receiving. At my age the memory is not all the retentive and one has a job to keep all the things to do in you mind but I don't want to give in. Any information given really needs to be in plain simple words, technical language for me is rather hard to understand bu I do try.

    Thanks again for youj help.
    Kind regards,
    Ron
